Our shop is at No. 16-17 in the Sector 5 Industrial Area. As you can probably guess from the name, we deal with eye technology, which mostly means a lot of precision work with lenses and equipment. Being in an industrial area, it’s all about the work here. We don’t have a fancy storefront with big windows. It’s more of a functional space where we get things done. The machines make a steady humming noise all day long, and you get used to the smell of the materials we use. We have a small crew and we’ve all been working together for a long time. Some days we are swamped with orders and other days it’s a bit more relaxed, though those are few and far between lately. We just focus on the technical side of things and try to make sure every piece of equipment leaving here is right. The lighting inside has to be very bright for the work we do, so it feels a bit like a lab sometimes. There’s always someone coming in to pick up a part or ask a technical question about a lens. We don’t have any polished speeches or mission statements posted on the walls. We just show up, put on our gear, and get through the list of tasks for the day.
