Gautam Metal Works

Gautam Metal Works has its home at Plot No. 5 in the Industrial Area right off the National Highway in Sector 1. Because we are so close to the highway, we see all the big long-distance trucks rolling past all day long. It is a noisy spot, but it is convenient for getting the metal supplies brought in. Our workshop is a straightforward place with high ceilings and plenty of heavy tools scattered around. We do a lot of cutting and shaping of metal, so it is never really quiet inside. Most of us have been working with metal for a long time, so we just know the routine by heart now. We start early to beat the worst of the heat, though by midday it is always hot near the machines. There is no air conditioning here, just some big industrial fans that move the warm air around. We keep a small stove in the back for making tea, which is how we start most of our meetings to discuss what needs to be finished. It is a bit messy with scraps and tools, but we know where everything is. People stop by because they saw our gate from the road or they heard about us from someone in Sector 1. We don't do much in the way of talking ourselves up; we just show them the work we are doing on the floor. It is a hard way to make a living but it is what we know.
