Sri Jai Maa Vaishno Dal Udyog

Our place, Sri Jai Maa Vaishno Dal Udyog, is located over in Gangapur Pilibhit. It is a quiet enough part of Rampur, though the dust from the grains can get everywhere when we are busy. We deal with dal and have been doing it for some time now. People around here know where we are. It’s a simple operation really. We get the raw materials in and we process them. There is nothing too complicated about it, just hard work and keeping the machines running. Some mornings it’s quite cold when we open up. We don't have any shiny brochures or a big sales team. It is just a family-run kind of thing where everyone chips in. The building itself has seen better days, maybe needs a bit of paint, but it does what it needs to do. We spend a lot of our time making sure the dal is clean and ready. It gets loud when the mills are turning, so we usually have to shout to hear each other. We’ve stayed in Rampur because this is where we belong. Our neighbors are mostly other small businesses or folks we’ve known for years. We aren't trying to change the world, just keeping the dal moving through Gangapur Pilibhit. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult with the drying, but we just wait it out. It's a living for us and we've gotten used to the daily grind.
