We are based out in Mallikpur, which is in the South 24 Parganas area. It is a bit further out from the main city buzz, which we actually prefer because it is closer to where many of our projects are located. The office is a simple place, nothing fancy at all. We have a few desks and a very old sofa for guests that probably needs replacing, but nobody really uses it anyway. Being out here means we deal with things like power cuts more often than the folks in central Kolkata do, but we just work around it with our generator. Our days involve a lot of travel to different sites to check on how the infra work is moving along. We usually have a lot of dust on our clothes by the end of the day. The team is small, mostly just a handful of us who handle everything from the site supervision to the basic accounts. We don't use much big tech; a lot of our planning still happens on paper with pencils and erasers. Mallikpur has its own rhythm, and we’ve settled into it over the years. It is nice being away from the heavy congestion, though the commute can be long for some of the guys. We mostly talk about the logistics of getting trucks in and out of tight spots. It is a messy business sometimes, but someone has to do it. We just show up every morning and see what the day requires.
