SHILAVILLA RESORT LLP

Shilavilla Resort LLP is located in Dhuturdaha, which is under the Minakhan police station. We are an LLP, so it’s a small partnership. The area around here is full of water and greenery. It’s a very specific part of West Bengal. We started this resort because we had some land and thought it would be good to have people visit. It’s a lot of work keeping the damp out because of all the water nearby. We spend our mornings cleaning the common areas and checking on the kitchen. We don't have a big staff, so everyone does a bit of everything. I might be doing the books one hour and then helping with the laundry the next. It’s not a polished corporate operation. We have some rough edges. The road to get here can be a bit bumpy depending on the season. We try to keep the gardens looking nice because that’s what people like about Dhuturdaha. It’s a place for people who want to see the fish ponds and the rural life. We aren't selling some dream, just a stay in a village setting. We have a few rooms and some space to sit outside. Most of our guests are from Kolkata looking for a break. We do our best to keep things running smooth but sometimes the power goes out or things don't go perfectly. That’s just how it is here. We are just real people running a small place. Nothing more to it.
