Khalsa Traders

Down here in Village Sarola, things are a lot slower than in the bigger towns. Khalsa Traders is based in Ward No- 150, which is part of the Pardi Tehsil in Valsad district. We are quite close to the road that goes via Dungri. It’s a rural area, so we deal with a lot of local farmers and small shop owners. We trade various goods that people need around here. The warehouse is a plain building with a tin roof. When it rains, you can barely hear yourself talk inside. We don't have any fancy computer systems; most of our records are still kept in big ledgers. It works for us. My nephew helps out with the heavy lifting, and we have a couple of guys from the village who come in when a big shipment arrives. The cows often wander onto the road outside, so we have to watch out when we're driving the small truck. We usually start our day very early, before the sun gets too hot. By the afternoon, we’re mostly sitting in the shade of the big neem tree out front. We aren't trying to grow into some huge company. We just want to do right by our neighbors and keep the business steady. It’s a quiet way to live and work, and we wouldn't have it any other way. People know where to find us if they need anything.
