Our place is out at Plot No.1401 /I in the 3rd Phase of the GIDC in Vapi. It’s an industrial area, so there are factories and warehouses all around us. Chryso India Pvt. Ltd. is where we handle a lot of chemical products and additives for construction. This isn't a shop where you walk in off the street to buy a loaf of bread. Big tanks and a lot of pipes are everywhere you look. Most of us here wear uniforms and spend the day checking gauges or loading barrels onto pallets. It’s loud because of the machinery running in the background. The office is just a small room with a couple of desks and a lot of safety posters on the walls. Many trucks come through the gates every day, so the ground is always covered in tire tracks. Summer months make the metal buildings soak up the sun, making it hot work. Lunch is usually eaten together in a small break area out back. It’s a serious environment because we have to be careful with what we’re mixing. We've been operating in Vapi for a while and most of the guys have been here since the start. It’s just hard work in a busy industrial zone, nothing too glamorous about it. We just keep the production lines moving. Sometimes we stay late to finish a batch. It's a long day but it's good work.
