Spandan Ambulance

Our base for Spandan Ambulance is located on Old Pedgaon Road in the Laxmi Nagar area of Parbhani. It’s a very simple setup we have here. We just have a couple of ambulances that we keep parked and maintained so they are ready the moment someone calls the number. Parbhani is the kind of town where news travels fast, so most people know we are here without us having to put up big posters. We don’t have a fancy office with a receptionist or anything like that. It’s mostly just a spot to keep the vehicles and a small room where someone is always sitting by the phone. When an emergency call comes in, we have to get moving immediately. The roads around Laxmi Nagar can be a bit rough in places and the traffic on Old Pedgaon Road is often quite heavy with tractors and bikes, but our drivers know the way. We’ve been running this service for a good number of years now. The drivers have lived in Parbhani their entire lives, so they don't really need a map to find the smaller colonies or back streets. We don't have a corporate office or a board of directors. It’s just a few of us making sure the petrol tanks are full and the medical kits are stocked up. It’s a tiring job, especially when the phone rings at three in the morning, but we’re used to it by now. We just try to be there when needed.
