New High School

Living and working in Selu means you really get used to the rhythm of the local market. New High School is located right by the Athwadi Bazzar, which is a very busy spot in the Parbhani district. On the days when the market is in full swing, the whole street is packed with people, goats, and carts, so getting through the gate can be a bit of a challenge in the mornings. The school building itself is a sturdy old thing that has seen many generations of students come and go over the years. We aren't trying to do anything flashy or modern here, just the daily job of teaching the kids. The classrooms have the usual wooden desks and green blackboards that have been there for ages. Parbhani gets very hot during the summer months, so we all appreciate the shade of the trees in the courtyard when we can get it. Most of the people working here grew up in this region, so we know the local families and the history of the town. It feels like a real community effort. You get to see the children grow from small kids into young adults. We have our set routines, from the morning prayers to the final bell at the end of the day. There’s always some paperwork sitting on the desk or a parent waiting to ask how their child is doing in class. It’s just a regular school in a busy bazaar and we do our work steadily every day.
