Alok Kirana & General Store

Alok Kirana & General Store is right in the heart of Kiny, which is part of the Bhokar Taluka in Nanded. You will find us very close to the Datta Sai Temple. Because of the temple, we see a lot of people every day, from locals doing their morning shopping to visitors who are just passing through the village. We sell all the usual things you would expect in a village store, like grains, oil, spices, and small household items. The shop has been here for a while, and the walls have a few cracks, but it stays cool inside even when it is hot out. We do not use any computers or modern machines to run the business. We just have a scale for weighing out the pulses and a small book where we record our daily sales. It is a very slow and peaceful way to work. We know most of our customers personally and often spend time talking about the local news or the latest rain totals while they wait for their groceries. My son helps me out in the evenings after he is done with his chores. We are not interested in becoming a big chain store or anything like that. We are just happy being the local kirana store where everyone feels welcome. It is a simple life near the temple, and we have everything we need right here.
