Sri Ragavendra Supermarket

Our shop is at 26, Rameshwaram Road in Paramakudi. Being on this road means we see a lot of people passing through every single day. Sri Ragavendra Supermarket is really just a place for the locals to get what they need without a lot of fuss. We spend our mornings opening up crates and putting stuff on the shelves. It’s a lot of bending and lifting, but it keeps us moving. We don't have those fancy scanners that always work, sometimes we have to type things in manually. The shop gets pretty crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. We know most of the people who come in, like which auntie wants the freshest vegetables or which kids are looking for sweets. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many people coming in and out, there’s always a stray box or some spilled grains somewhere. It’s not a giant warehouse, just a regular supermarket where we try to keep the staples in stock. We deal with the local farmers and suppliers as much as we can. It’s a busy life, and our feet usually ache by the time we lock the doors at night. But it’s good to be part of the neighborhood and see the same faces every day. We don't do anything special, just keep the lights on and the shelves full. It is what it is.
