Shalom Industrial School

We are situated at number 47 in Paramakudi, right along the East Coast Road. If you’ve driven that way, you’ve probably passed us. We focus on industrial training, so it’s a bit different from a regular school. There is more noise from tools and machinery than from singing or playing. The location on the East Coast Road is handy for people traveling in from the surrounding areas. We’ve got various workshops set up where people can actually get their hands on things. It’s a practical place. We don’t spend much time sitting around talking about theories; we’d rather show how something works. The building is sturdy and built for hard work. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going. Our staff are mostly people who have spent years doing this kind of work themselves. We aren’t trying to be the most modern place in the world, but we have what’s needed to get the job done. People come here to learn a trade, and we do our best to help them with that. There’s a lot of grease and dust sometimes, but that’s just part of the industrial environment. We keep the office paperwork separate from the workshop floor, but it’s all one small team running the show. It’s honest work, and we’re glad to be part of the Paramakudi community and help people find their way.
