Life at the institute here in Nirjuly is mostly about keeping things running for the students. North Regional Institute Of Science Technology is a big place, but it feels like a small community once you’ve been here for a while. You see the same faces in the corridors and at the canteen every single day. We spend a lot of time in the labs or the faculty rooms, dealing with equipment that sometimes has a mind of its own. Nirjuly can be quiet, which is nice for focusing, but there’s always a bit of chaos when exams are coming up or a new batch of students arrives. We don’t have a lot of fancy corporate talk here. It’s more about making sure the projectors work and the library has the right books on the shelves. Sometimes we spend hours just talking about a specific project or trying to figure out why a piece of software isn't installing correctly. The campus has a lot of green space, but most of our time is spent inside under the fluorescent lights. We eat a lot of quick snacks between sessions and drink way too much coffee to stay alert. It’s an honest kind of place where people are just trying to learn things and get their work done. We don't worry about looking polished; we just care about the labs being open and the classes starting on time every morning without any major hitches.
