Mechuka Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are based out of Bansi, over at Village Mechukapost in Dandwaghat. It's a bit of a mouthful to say. This company is basically just us farmers trying to pool our resources. Daya Ram’s place is where we handle the mail and stuff. It isn’t anything fancy, just a regular house. Most of us grow the usual crops you see around this part of Uttar Pradesh. We spent a lot of time talking under the trees before we actually went and made this official. Farming is tough, especially when the rains don't come on time or the market prices drop out of nowhere. We figured if we worked as a group, we might have a better shot at things. We don't have any big machinery or a huge warehouse yet. It’s mostly just hard labor and long hours in the sun. We are still learning how to run a company. None of us went to business school, we just know the soil. Sometimes we argue about which way is best, but that's just how it goes. We started with a few members and now there are more of us. It feels okay knowing your neighbors are in the same boat. We just want to get our produce out there without too many headaches. It’s a simple life, and we aren't trying to change the world, just look after our families and keep the land healthy. We hope to grow more next year if the weather stays fair for us.
