About Pdp Bricks – Building & Construction Material in Panvel
Our brick kiln is located in Village Tara, near Post-Barapada in the Raigad district. It is a beautiful area with lots of green, but the work we do is quite messy and brown. We use the local soil from the surrounding fields to make our bricks. Raigad gets a lot of rain during the monsoon season, which means we have to shut down production for a few months every year. During those times, we mostly just do maintenance work and wait for the sun to come back out so the ground can dry. When the season is on, the whole place is a hive of activity from dawn until dusk. We have people molding the clay by hand and others tending to the fires in the kiln. It is a traditional way of doing things, and it requires a lot of hard physical labor. The village life is usually slow, but at the kiln, things move fast when orders come in. We have trucks coming in from the main road to pick up loads for construction projects in the nearby towns. We don't have a formal office; we usually just sit under a canopy and handle the paperwork there on a simple table. It is an honest living, and we take the good days with the bad. Sometimes the kiln doesn't fire right and we lose a batch, which is frustrating, but you just have to start all over again. That is the nature of the brick business in Village Tara.
