Our place is out on the Pune Highway in Panvel East. It is quite a large building, Number 213 in Sector 19. Being near the highway means there is always the sound of big trucks and cars rushing past. The Vishwas Bazar is just a short walk away, which is handy for lunch. We deal with lots of paint and coatings here. It is more of a warehouse feel than a little shop. We have these big heavy drums and containers stacked on pallets. The floor is concrete and has some spills from over the years that we never quite managed to scrub off. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the big side doors open to let some air in. Usually, it is just a few of us moving things around and checking the inventory. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at delivery notes. The Panvel Matheran Road is right there, so getting things in and out is not too hard most days. It is a practical spot for a business like ours. We do not have fancy displays or anything like that. It is just rows of cans and buckets waiting to go out to some construction site or another shop. Sometimes the traffic on the highway gets backed up for miles, and we just watch the cars from the loading dock. It is a busy area, but we have gotten used to the noise and the pace of the highway.
