Wood Home

Our shop is Wood Home, located at Shop No. 12 and 13 in Gurudev Arcade. We are in Sector 9 of Khanda Colony, and a very easy way to find us is that we are right beside the railway line overbridge. You can hear the trains passing by every few minutes, which is something you just stop noticing after a while. The shop is quite spacious because we occupy two units. We have different wood pieces and furniture items on display. There’s always a fine layer of sawdust on things, no matter how much we dust. It’s the nature of the business. We spend our time talking to people who walk in from the colony, showing them different types of wood and explaining what might work for their homes. The Gurudev Arcade is a local landmark, so we see a lot of familiar faces. We have a small desk at the back where we do the accounts and keep our measurements. It’s a relaxed atmosphere. We aren't pushy about selling things; we just let people look around and answer their questions. Sometimes we sit on the stools outside the shop in the evening when the sun goes down. The location near the overbridge means there’s always a breeze, even if it brings a bit of noise with it. It’s a good place to work, surrounded by the smell of fresh timber and the activity of Sector 9.
