Etehad Gypsum

We are set up out in Shedgung Post Aji Walidistrict, Raigad, which is right near the Mumbai Pune Expressway Highway. If you are driving along that stretch, you’ve probably passed by our area without even realizing it. Etehad Gypsum is where we spend our days, surrounded by bags of gypsum and the dust that comes with it. It’s a bit of a rustic spot, far enough from the city to feel quiet at night but close enough to the highway that transport isn't too much of a headache. The shed is sturdy, which is good because we get some heavy rain in this part of Raigad. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles here; it’s just a place for storage and processing. Most of us have been working with gypsum for a long time, so we know the texture and the weight of it by heart. The location near the expressway is handy for the trucks, though the noise of the traffic is always there in the background like a low hum. We usually start work quite early before the sun gets too high, and by late afternoon, we are winding down the operations. There’s a small dhaba nearby where we usually get our lunch, and they make a decent dal. We aren't interested in being a big name, we just want to keep the supply moving and make sure the shed stays organized. It’s a simple life out here near the highway.
