Amsa Patterns

Amsa Patterns is over at No:635 on State Bank Street in the L N Puram area. It’s a small place but we manage to get a lot done inside those walls. We mostly work on making patterns for clothes and other textiles. If you walk in, you’ll see big tables covered in paper and fabric. It’s a lot of measuring and cutting with big shears. We’ve been at this location for a good while now and we know the street pretty well. It gets busy outside with people going to the bank, but inside it’s usually just the sound of us working. We don't have a fancy office or any corporate stuff. It’s just a workshop where we put in the hours. Sometimes the rolls of material pile up near the door and we have to move things around to make space. It’s not perfect, but it works for us. Most of the people we work for are local tailors or small garment shops nearby. They come to us because they know we take our time to get the lines right. We don't really use a lot of technology, mostly just our hands and experience. If we make a mistake, we start over because a bad pattern is no use to anyone. It’s a quiet kind of life, just making sure the shapes are correct. We close up when the sun goes down and head home. That’s about all there is to it.
