Out here in Bharuch, the GIDC area is huge and it gets incredibly hot during the summer months. Our place is Plot No. 1718 in Phase II, just down the road from Luna Chemical. It’s an industrial plot, so there’s more machinery and storage space than there is actual office room. The dust settles on everything no matter how much we sweep. Working at Sky Life Science means you get used to the smell of chemicals and the sound of heavy vehicles idling outside the gate. We have a small shed where we keep the records and a tiny kitchen area for making tea. Most of the day is spent checking on the production or making sure the safety gear is where it should be. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a suit. We wear sturdy boots and clothes that we don't mind getting a bit dirty. The sun beats down on the corrugated roof, and it gets loud when the machines are running, but it’s honest work. We know most of the people in the neighboring plots, and we often help each other out if someone’s forklift breaks down or if we run out of supplies. It’s a bit isolated out here compared to the city, but we like the space and the fact that we can just get on with our jobs.
