National Centre For Antarctic & Ocean Research, Goa

This branch of our research center is located in New Wado, over in Sirsaim. It is part of the Tivim area in Bardez, Goa. It is a bit different from the busier coastal spots, which is actually quite nice for the work we do. We handle a lot of the ocean and Antarctic research details from this location. The office is set up simply, just a few rooms where we can sit down and look at the data coming in. Most of the people working here are locals from the Bardez area. We do not have a corporate vibe at all. It is more like a group of people who are really into their work and do not care much for fancy furniture or polished presentations. We spend a lot of time talking about tides, ice, and various maritime logistics. The road outside is usually quiet, though you get the occasional scooter or truck passing by. We like it here because it lets us focus. Sometimes we have to head down to the docks or travel for meetings, but this is where the main planning happens. It is not a place you would find in a brochure, just a working office in a regular Goan village. We keep the files organized and make sure the researchers have what they need for their trips down south. It is steady work and we have become a small part of the Sirsaim community over the years.
