Our office is at number 239 in Phase 1 of Model Town. It’s a fairly quiet area most of the time, which helps when we’re trying to look through blueprints or sort out worker schedules. We’ve got a couple of rooms set up with basic furniture and a lot of paper everywhere. Being a contractor means there’s always someone coming in with a muddy pair of boots or a delivery guy looking for a signature. We don't really do the whole corporate thing with fancy coffee machines; we just use a kettle in the corner. Some days are incredibly hectic with phones ringing and people shouting about supplies, and other days we’re just sitting here waiting for a permit to come through. Phase 1 is a decent place to be based because it’s easy to get to most parts of town from here. The office door sticks a bit in the humidity, so you have to give it a good shove. We have a big map of the local area pinned to the wall with some coffee stains on the edges. It’s not a showroom or anything, just a place where the actual work of coordinating projects happens. Most of the time, the desk is covered in calculators and pens that don't always work. We just try to keep things moving along and make sure the guys on site have what they need to get the job finished properly.
