Our workshop is located at Plot No. 188 in Sector 25 Part-II, right in the Honda Industrial Area. It’s a dusty, busy part of town with a lot of manufacturing and heavy vehicles going on around us. R.K. Handicrafts isn’t a showroom; it’s where the actual work happens. The roof is corrugated metal, so it gets pretty loud when it rains and quite hot in the peak of summer, but we’re used to it. We’ve got big wooden tables laid out for sorting through the different materials we use. There are always piles of offcuts and tools lying around, but there’s a system to it that only we really understand. You’ll hear the sound of machinery from the neighboring plots and the rumble of trucks coming in to pick up loads. We spend our days making sure the production stays on track and that things are getting finished. It’s a lot of physical work, and by the end of the day, our clothes are usually covered in some kind of lint or dust from the floor. We take our breaks sitting on plastic chairs near the entrance to catch whatever breeze there is from the open door. It’s a straightforward way of working without any frills or unnecessary decorations. We aren't trying to impress anyone with how the place looks. We just focus on the items we’re making and getting them out to where they need to go. It keeps us occupied and the days go by quickly.
