Raj Tempo Loding Service

I started Raj Tempo Loding Service in Jattal, near the villages of Gattal. It’s on the outskirts of Panipat. I have a few tempos that we use for moving stuff. This isn't a passenger travel business; we focus on loading and carrying goods. I’ve lived in Jattal since I was a boy. I know every turn and every bump in the road around here. People call us when they are moving house or when they have some farm produce to take to the mandi. It’s heavy work and the days are long. I usually start before the sun comes up. My drivers are all local men from the village. We maintain the tempos ourselves, right here in the yard. There is always grease on our hands and dust on our clothes. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We sit on plastic chairs under a tin roof and wait for the next job. Jattal is a quiet place except for the sound of the engines. We don’t have a big office, just a small shed where we keep the tools and the registers. I keep track of the fuel and the mileage in a small book I carry in my pocket. It’s a tough business but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep the trucks moving and help the neighbors with their heavy lifting whenever they need us.
