Madhu Textiles

You can find Madhu Textiles over on Dayanand Road, right near Amar Bhawan Chowk in Model Town. It’s a nice enough area, and we’ve been here for quite some time now. The shop is filled with rolls of fabric and different kinds of cloth stacked up to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes, and we have to move three things just to get to the one the customer wants. We don't have a big staff, so it’s usually just a few of us handling everything from the sales to the cleaning. The light comes in through the front window and highlights all the different colors we have in stock. It’s a quiet place most mornings, but it picks up in the afternoons. We don't do anything fancy with the displays. We just put the fabric out where people can touch it and see the patterns. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to us for years. They know we stay open late most nights to make sure everyone gets what they need. Sometimes we sit on the stools and have a bit of a chat with the people who walk in. It’s a simple way to spend the day. We don't use any high-tech systems; we just write things down in our ledger and keep track of the stock the old-fashioned way. It’s worked for us so far, and we don't see much reason to change it now.
