You can find Kapil Bhatta Co. over in Village Kabri Behrampur. We are based in the Bapoli area, not too far from the Arya Samaj Mandir in Panipat. The brick kiln is our main focus. It’s a big open space where we spend most of our daylight hours. The smoke from the chimney is a familiar sight around here. We work with the earth and the fire to make the bricks that people need for their houses. It is a traditional way of doing things that hasn't changed much over the years. We have workers who know how to mold the clay and stack the kiln just right. It gets very busy during the peak season when the weather is dry. If it rains, everything slows down and we have to cover the unburnt bricks with plastic sheets. That’s just how it goes with this kind of work. The road near the mandir can get a bit crowded with tractors, but we manage to get our deliveries out. We are just a local company trying to make a living in Panipat. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just come to the village and look for us. We sit out in the shade when the sun is too much and drink some tea while we talk to customers. It’s a hard life but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep the fire going and the bricks moving out to the local building sites.
