Finding us isn’t too hard since we are right opposite Mahek Pharma House on the Huda Bypass Road. The location is a bit dusty because of all the traffic going past the Indo Pharma House Colony. We spend most of our time around the looms and the fabrics. There’s always that rhythmic sound of the machines going in the background. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it. We handle a lot of thread and cloth every day. My clothes always end up having little bits of lint stuck to them. The shop front isn't anything special to look at, just a door and some window displays that we change whenever we find the time. People usually stop by while they are heading somewhere else on the bypass. We’ve got piles of handloom products stacked up reaching almost to the ceiling. It smells like raw cotton and old wood in here. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the long afternoons. Sometimes the light inside isn't the best, so we step out to check the colors of the fabric in the sun. It’s a simple way of living. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how the machines work. We keep the doors open even when it’s noisy outside. It’s just how things are at Rohit Handloom. We usually close up once the sun goes down and the traffic on the bypass starts to thin out.
