You have to go down Bapoli Road to find us in Village Chajpur Kalan. We are in the Panipat district, which everyone knows is the heart of the textile industry. Our building is simple and sits right on the edge of the village. Inside, it’s all about the fabric. We have rolls of cloth stacked everywhere you look. The air is always a bit thick with dust from the threads, so we leave the big doors open for ventilation. You can hear the machines running from the street. It’s a steady, humming sound that we don't even notice anymore. We don't have a showroom or anything like that. People just come to the workshop if they need to see what we are making. We spend our days checking the quality of the weave and making sure the orders are moving. It’s physical work and your arms get tired from lifting the heavy rolls. We eat our lunch together in a small corner near the back. Usually, it's just home-cooked food we brought from our houses. The village life is slow, but the textile work keeps us on our toes. Sometimes a truck gets stuck on the narrow road leading to the gate, and we all have to go out and help. It’s just part of the daily routine at Singla Textile. We stay until the last loom stops for the night and everything is covered up.
