Ashoka Textiles

Ashoka Textiles is situated at House No. 384/7, right on Sanoli Road. If you know the area, you know we are directly opposite the old Subzi Mandi. It’s a very loud and active part of town, especially early in the morning when the vegetable trucks are still around. We’ve been working out of this building for a long time. The walls have seen a lot of different fabrics come and go over the years. We handle a lot of textile work here, mostly stuff people need for their homes or small shops. It isn't a quiet office. There is always the sound of machines or people talking about orders. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, but that’s just part of being near the market. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. It’s just a few of us making sure the stacks of cloth are organized and the customers get what they asked for. The Sanoli Road traffic can be a nightmare in the afternoons, so we usually try to get our big deliveries done early. We know most of the other shop owners around here. We drink chai from the same stall every day. It’s a simple life, really. We just focus on the work in front of us. Most people find us because they were already at the Mandi and saw our doors open. We just keep our heads down and keep the fabric moving for the local folks.
