If you find yourself on Assandh Road near the Red Light Chowk, you will see the Baba Nanak Complex where we are located at Sco No. 15. It’s a very busy part of town, so there is always a lot of noise from the cars and bikes outside. Our shop is right there on the ground floor. We have been here for a good while, and the place has a bit of a lived-in feel to it. The walls could probably use some new paint and the front sign is a little bit faded from the sun. Inside, we have our counters where we keep the jewelry we’ve made. Most of it is stuff we’ve put together right here in the back room. We have our tools and a small furnace for when we need to melt things down. It’s just two or three of us working most days. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate rules. We just open up in the morning, make some tea, and see who comes through the door. Sometimes it’s a regular customer looking for a gift, and other times it’s someone who just needs a broken chain fixed. We like the bustle of the neighborhood and knowing the other shopkeepers around us. It’s a practical, straightforward business and we just do our best with every piece we work on.
