Sanyam International

Our office is located in Khotpura. It’s a smaller place compared to the big cities, but that suits us just fine. Sanyam International has been running out of this spot for some time now. The building is just a simple structure with a few rooms and a small yard in the back where we sometimes keep crates. There is a lot of dust on the road outside, especially when the wind picks up in the afternoon. We spend most of our time on the phone or checking over shipping papers. It’s a lot of back-and-forth work. Sometimes things get delayed and we just have to sit and wait, which can be annoying. We have a couple of old desks and chairs that have seen a lot of use. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break. There aren't many big signs or advertisements around here. People just know where we are. We don't have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from sweeping the floor to talking to clients. It’s a quiet way to work. Khotpura is the kind of place where you can hear the birds in the morning before the traffic starts. We’ve grown attached to the routine here. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s our daily life and we just keep moving forward with the tasks we have in front of us without any extra polish.
