Adarsh Woollen Industries

Our place is out on the G. T. Road at the 84th kilometer stone, in a village called Sewah. It’s a very easy place to find if you are driving towards Panipat. We have a woollen mill here. It’s a pretty old-fashioned operation, to be honest. We have the big machines that process the raw wool and turn it into something useful. It’s a dusty job and the smell of wool is something that stays with you even after you go home. Being right on the highway means there is a constant roar of traffic outside, but inside we are focused on the production. We don't have a fancy office or a showroom. It’s just the factory floor and a small area for the accounts. We have a crew of people from the nearby villages who have been working with these machines for years. They know exactly how to handle the wool when it gets knotted up. We mostly deal with bulk orders and don't spend much time on fancy advertising. It’s a seasonal business in a way, as things get much busier when winter is coming. We just keep the machines oiled and the floors swept as much as possible. It is a tough job sometimes, but it’s what the area is known for and we are glad to be part of it. The work keeps us all going. It is hard work but it is what we have always known, and we just keep at it day after day without much complaint.
