London House Raipur is over in Pandry at Shoppers Paradise. We are in Unit No. 33. It’s a typical market setting where everyone is always in a hurry. The unit is small, so we have to be very careful about how we stack the stock on the shelves. Most days, we are just waiting for the foot traffic to pick up in the afternoon. Shoppers Paradise has a lot of different shops, so there’s always something going on in the hallways. We spend a lot of time adjusting the hangers and making sure everything looks decent enough for whoever walks in. The air conditioning in the mall works most of the time, which is a relief in the summer. We have a small stool behind the counter where we take turns sitting down when the feet start to ache. It’s a simple retail life. We talk to customers, handle the cash, and fold clothes that people have looked at. We don't have a big corporate office telling us what to do. It’s just us managing the daily business. Sometimes we stay after the mall closes to do the inventory. The lights go dim and it gets very quiet, which is a nice change from the daytime rush. We’ve been in this unit for a while and we know the other shopkeepers around us. We often share snacks or talk about how the day went over a quick tea break before we head home for the night.
