Ask Garments

Ask Garments is located at Building No. 8/3002 in Kovil North, right near the Bala Karupparayar Temple in Pandian Nagar. Having the temple so close really shapes the atmosphere of our workday. You can often hear the bells ringing or the sound of people gathering for prayers. It’s a busy part of town, especially during festival times. Our shop is where we handle all our sewing and garment work. It’s a bit of a maze inside with rolls of cloth and different colored threads everywhere. We don’t have a fancy display window. Most of the space is taken up by cutting tables and machines. Pandian Nagar is a place where people appreciate hard work, and we try to keep up with that. The building itself is an older one, so it stays relatively cool even when it’s hot outside. We’ve been part of this community for a long time. People know they can find us near the Bala Karuparayar Temple if they need something made or altered. It’s a local operation through and through. We don't have a big corporate office or a board of directors. It’s just us working with fabric every day. The light in the morning is the best for seeing the colors of the thread clearly. We usually start early and stay until the evening light fades away over the temple roof, ending another long but good day of stitching and cutting.
