Nagraj Sweets & Pickles

Nagraj Sweets & Pickles is located at 233 Shivaji Chowk in Mannur. Being right at the chowk means we are in the middle of everything that happens in our town. Whether it is a festival or just a busy Tuesday, there is always a crowd outside. We have been making our sweets and pickles in this same spot for quite a long time. The kitchen is always going, and you can usually smell the sugar or the vinegar from a block away. It is a small team here, mostly family and a few neighbors who have become like family. We do not use any big machines or fancy technology; most of what we do is by hand, just the way we learned it years ago. The shop floor is simple with some old glass counters that have seen better days. We don't really have a marketing plan or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to come in for their daily fix. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the afternoon, especially the popular pickles, and we just tell people to come back tomorrow. It is a relaxed way of doing business, but it works for the people in Mannur. We have watched children grow up and start bringing their own kids to the shop. It is not always perfect, and sometimes the floors get sticky, but we do our work honestly.
