Coromandel Sugars Ltd. is situated in Makavally, which is part of the Kr Pet Taluk. This is a region where agriculture is a big part of everyone’s life, and we are right in the middle of it. Our facility is a significant part of the local landscape here in Makavally. It is a busy place, especially during certain times of the year when the activity levels really pick up. We have a lot of ground to cover and the buildings are quite spread out to accommodate everything we do. It is not the kind of place with carpeted floors and glass walls. It is a working site through and through. There is a lot of noise from the machinery and people are always moving around to make sure everything stays on track. We have a small office area where we handle the records and the day-to-day planning, but most of the action happens out in the main sections. The roads around Kr Pet Taluk can be a bit rough sometimes but they get us where we need to go. We have many people from the surrounding villages who come here to work. It’s a community effort in a lot of ways. We don't spend a lot of time on fancy presentations. We just focus on keeping the operations running as they should. It is a big job but we have a steady rhythm here. We stay open late when we need to and start early.
