Agni Moulds & Dies, Coimbatore

Even though Agni Moulds & Dies has roots in Coimbatore, we are actually operating out of Pandalam in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. The workshop is located in a place called Poovanasseril and it’s a lot quieter than the big industrial hubs. We spend our days working with moulds and dies which requires a lot of patience and a steady hand. The humidity in Kerala can be quite something especially when you are working around metal and machinery all day. We have a small team here and we usually share our lunch together under the shade of the porch. It’s a very hands-on job and we don’t really spend much time sitting in front of computers unless we have to check a specific design. Most of the people around here know us as the machine shop down the road. We don't really do any fancy marketing or have a big sign out front. People just find us when they need something specific made or repaired. The pace of life in Pandalam is a bit slower than the city which suits us just fine. Sometimes we have to wait for parts to arrive from further away but we just manage our schedule around it. It’s an honest way to make a living and we just try to do a good job with the stuff we make with our hands. It's just a regular workshop doing regular work in this part of India.
