The American School

Our school is located on Station Road in Dahod, which means we’re never too far from the sound of the trains. It’s a central part of town, and there’s always something going on just outside our doors. People are walking to the station or stopping at the shops nearby. The building itself is an older one, and it has that specific smell of old paper and wood. We have a small team of us who handle everything from the front desk to the classrooms. The morning bell is a bit loud, but it’s the only way to get everyone’s attention over the street noise. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the neighbors who walk past the gate. Sometimes the power flickers when a big train goes by, but we’re used to it. The classrooms have simple wooden desks, and we try to keep them as clean as possible, though the dust from the road always finds a way in. We don’t have any big flashy signs or anything like that. It’s just a plain school building where we work. In the winter, the morning air is really crisp and nice. We just focus on getting through the lessons and making sure the kids are safe until their parents come to pick them up at the end of the afternoon.
