Shrimati M B Jain Blind School

We are located out on Borwani Road in Chhapri, which is near Dahod. This school was set up specifically for blind students in this region. It is a quiet place because we are a bit away from the main town noise. We have dorms for the kids who stay with us and classrooms where they learn Braille and other skills. It is a practical environment, designed to help them get around safely. The staff here have been doing this for years, so they know the routine inside and out. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles, just the essentials needed for teaching and living. The grounds are kept clear so it’s easy for everyone to walk around without tripping. Dahod can get quite warm, so we spend a lot of time in the shade of the building or under the fans. It is a small community we have here. Every morning starts with the same routine, and we try to keep things steady for the students. Some of the equipment is a bit older, but it still works fine for what we need. We don't really do much in the way of promotion. People who need us usually find us through the local social services or by asking around the 389151 area. It is just a place where we try to help kids live more independently. Nothing more, nothing less than that.
