Shakti Flour Mill

You can find Shakti Flour Mill tucked away in Anta Gali, right near the Nagrik Bank in Devgadh Baria. It is a narrow little street, so it can be quite a challenge when the trucks arrive with the grain. We have been running this mill for a long time now, and the constant hum of the grinding stones is just part of the background of our lives. It is a dusty place to work, no matter how much we try to sweep the floors. We spend our days grinding wheat and other grains for the local families and the small shops in the area. It is hard, physical work and it gets very hot in here during the summer, but it is a steady way to earn a living. We do not have any fancy printed bags or branding. Most people just bring their own containers or we use simple, plain sacks to hold the flour. The machinery we use is old, but we take good care of it and keep it running smoothly. My father ran this place before me, and I have just kept it going in the same way. We do not use computers or anything like that for our accounts; we just write everything down in a big ledger book. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to stop work for a while, but the customers understand and just wait or come back later. It is a very simple way of doing business in a small town.
