Maa Medicines

Maa Medicines is over on Pavagadh Road in Halol. We are very close to the Urban Bank, which is a big landmark for people around here. It is a convenient location because people often do their banking and then walk over to see us. The street can be a bit narrow, so parking nearby is sometimes a challenge for our visitors. Inside the shop, things are kept simple. We have a long counter and the walls are covered in shelves from top to bottom. We use a lot of handwritten ledgers to keep track of what we buy and sell, as it feels more reliable to us than just using the computer. The lighting is a bit dim towards the back of the shop, but we know where everything is even in the dark. During the rainy season, the road outside gets quite muddy, and we spend a lot of time mopping the floor to keep it looking decent. We have a small radio that plays in the background, mostly just for some noise when the shop is empty. Most of the people who come in are locals from Halol who we’ve known for years. We don't do anything special or fancy, just keep the shop running day after day. It is a steady rhythm that we have grown used to. We just do our work and go home.
