S. R. A. S. Coir Works

S. R. A. S. Coir Works is situated right at Alawalpur Chowk on Gandhi Ashram Road. We are pretty easy to spot since we’re right near Ujjwal Bank. Working with coir means there is always a bit of fiber in the air and the smell of coconut husks around the shop. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We spend the day processing the material and making sure everything is ready for whatever it’s being used for. It’s not a quiet place, and it’s certainly not a corporate office. We have our machines and our storage areas, and that’s about it. The chowk is always bustling with people and traffic, so there is never a dull moment looking out the front door. We’ve been here for a while and have become a bit of a fixture on Gandhi Ashram Road. We don’t really bother with big signs or fancy slogans. People around Alawalpur know what we do. It’s hard work, and your clothes usually end up covered in bits of fiber by the end of the shift, but it’s what we do. We just focus on getting the orders through and keeping the place running. It’s a simple, local operation where we just take things one day at a time, making sure the coir is handled right and the customers get what they came for. We are just here doing our job.
