Ric Gems & Minerals Company is over in Sector- 6 at No. 172. It’s a quiet enough spot. We’ve been here a while now, just doing our thing with the different stones and minerals that come through. The space isn’t huge but it fits everything we need. Most days it’s just us sorting through things or talking to someone who stopped by because they were in the neighborhood. Sector- 6 has changed some over the years, though our corner stays pretty much the same. You might miss the door if you’re driving too fast. Inside, there are boxes and display cases, and maybe some dust on the shelves if it’s been a busy week. It’s not one of those shiny places where everything is under bright spotlights. We prefer it that way. It feels more like a workshop than a store. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s just the sound of the fan overhead. We handle the gems and the rocks, looking at them under the light, seeing what’s what. It’s steady work. People come in looking for something specific or just wanting to see what’s new in the bins. We don't do much in the way of big signs. If you know where No. 172 is, you'll find us. It’s a practical setup for the kind of stuff we handle every day. It's nothing fancy, but it's where we work.
