Cemco Punches India

Our workshop at Cemco Punches India is situated in the Abahya Pur Industrial area, specifically at No. 338A. We are quite close to the Astha Model School, so we hear the kids playing during their breaks, which is a strange contrast to the sounds of the metal presses we have running inside. The air in here usually smells like machine oil and cold steel. It’s a noisy place, and we often have to shout to hear each other over the clanking of the punches. There are scraps of metal all over the floor, and we try to sweep them up at the end of every shift, but they always seem to come back. We have some heavy benches where we check the parts we make. It’s tough work on the hands, and most of us have a few cuts or grease stains that never quite wash off. The building itself is just a plain shed with high rafters where the birds sometimes build nests. In the winter, it gets really cold in here, but in the summer, it’s like an oven. We don't have a fancy office; it's just a small corner with a table and a few stools where we eat our lunch. We’ve been at this spot for a while, just making holes in metal and keeping the machines maintained so they don't break down on us. It is loud and greasy, but it is our daily work.
