Master Cut

Over in Panchkula at SCO 96 in Sector 5, things are usually moving pretty quick. Swastik Vihar is a good area, and the MDC section has a lot of people coming and going all the time. Master Cut is located in one of those standard shop-cum-office buildings. The front window is large, but we have some posters up that block some of the light. Inside, there are a few chairs for people to wait in, and they aren't the most comfortable, but they do for a short stay. We have a couple of mirrors on the walls and the floor is usually covered in little bits of thread or scraps of paper by the end of the day. It’s a working shop, not a gallery. The sound of the street outside stays mostly outside, which is nice. We have a small back room where we keep the extra supplies and a kettle for making tea. Most of our regulars know us by name, and they just walk in and start talking. It’s a friendly enough atmosphere without being too loud. The rent goes up every few years, but we stay because the location is easy for everyone to find. We just open up in the morning, do the work, and head home when the sun goes down. There is always a pile of newspapers on the table that nobody ever really reads, but it makes the place feel more like home.
