Our office for Jaiprakash Associates Limited is over in Panchkula, at number 9 in GHS-38. We are right in Sector-20, which is a fairly organized part of the city. The pincode is 134116. Panchkula is much quieter than nearby Chandigarh, which we appreciate. Our space is basically a flat that we’ve converted into an office. It has a kitchen where we boil water for tea and a main room where we have our computers and files. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been working together for years. We know each other’s habits and how we like things done. The view from the window is mostly other buildings and a bit of the street below. We see the seasons change through the trees in the park nearby. We don't use marketing talk because we don't see the point. We just do our work, whether it is filing papers or making phone calls. Sometimes the printers act up, or the internet goes slow, and we just deal with it. It’s a very practical, no-nonsense environment. Most of our visitors are just people we’ve known for a long time. We keep the door open during the day and close up exactly at six. It is a steady, predictable way to make a living in a nice town. We like the routine and the familiar faces in the building.
