If you come down to Plot No. 368 in Industrial Area Phase- 1 you will find us mostly surrounded by big rolls of cloth and thread. The building has seen better days but it stays cool enough in the shade. We spend our hours watching the looms and making sure the patterns don't get messed up. It’s a lot of standing and moving around. We have a small corner for the staff to eat their lunch and talk. Most of us live nearby so it’s not a long commute. The fabric we handle is heavy so by the end of the day our arms are usually tired. We don't have a big corporate office or people in suits walking around. It’s just us in our work clothes trying to finish the batches on time. Sometimes the thread snaps and we have to stop everything to fix it which is a pain but that’s just the nature of textiles. We’ve been at this location for a long time and the other factory owners on the street are mostly friends. We swap stories about the rising costs of electricity or where to find good spare parts for the machines. It is a simple operation and we don’t try to make it sound like more than it is. We just make cloth and try to keep the machines running so the orders get finished by Friday afternoon.
