If you go behind the G.E.B. in Lileshra, you’ll find Quartz India. We’re out there in a spot where there’s plenty of room for all the stone we handle. It’s a rugged kind of place. Working with quartz means you’re dealing with heavy loads and a lot of grit. The yard is usually full of raw material waiting to be moved. It’s mostly outdoor work, so we’re at the mercy of the weather. When it rains, everything gets muddy, and when it’s sunny, it’s hot as anything. But we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We aren't the type of company with a shiny office or people in suits. Most of us are in work boots and dusty clothes. Lileshra is a quiet area for the most part, except for the sound of our equipment and the trucks coming in from the main road. We keep things pretty simple. The stone comes in, we process it, and it goes out to whoever needs it. We’ve got a small shed for the paperwork and for taking breaks. We sit around there and talk about the news or what’s for dinner. It’s a slow-paced life in some ways, but the work itself is hard. We don't put on any acts. We just do the job and go home at the end of the day. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy.
