If you travel down the Panchmahal Kisan Vidhyalaya Road in Lunawada, you'll find us. Omker Maulik Vidyalay isn't hard to spot once you get onto that stretch of road. The area is a bit dusty, especially during the dry months, but there is plenty of space around. We have a few buildings clustered together, and they’ve seen better days, though they hold up well enough against the rain. Most of the staff here have been around for a long time, so we know each other's habits and how everyone likes their tea. The office is usually a mess of folders and registers because we still do a lot of things by hand. It’s just easier that way sometimes. Lunawada is a quiet town, and we don't get much excitement around here, which is fine by us. We start the day when the air is still cool and try to get the heavy work done before the afternoon heat settles in. The benches in the common areas have some carvings from people who were here years ago. It’s funny how some things don't change at all. We don't use much technology; it’s mostly just paper and pens and a lot of talking. By the time the sun starts setting over Panchmahal, we're usually finishing up the last bits of paperwork. It’s just a normal place where we show up, do our jobs, and then go back to our families.
