Guj Uni

Our place is in Mahadev Faliya in Vejalpur. It is part of the Kalol Taluka in the Panchmahal district. It is a bit of a journey to get here if you are coming from the main city areas. The area is much more rural than a lot of people expect. We are surrounded by smaller houses and some open ground. It is very quiet here most of the time, except for the birds and the occasional tractor going by on the road. The building we use is simple. We have a few rooms with basic furniture that we have collected over time. There is no air conditioning, just the breeze through the windows when the weather is nice. We spend our days here dealing with the local needs of the area. It is a very humble operation for us. Most of us have lived in this part of Gujarat our whole lives. We speak the local language and know most of the people who walk past our door. Guj Uni isn't a place with big glass windows or a lobby. It is just a functional space where we handle our daily business. Sometimes we sit outside on the porch for a few minutes to talk when it is cool. Life moves a bit slower here in Panchmahal. We like the pace because it lets us focus on what we are doing.
